A big-hearted seven-year-old has brought Easter cheer to hundreds of care home residents across Aberdeenshire.
Eva Keenan wanted to “make people happy” after lockdown restrictions were put in place.
While she is able to see and chat to her grandmother Margaret via Skype, she realised many others would not be so lucky.
Her mum, Stephanie Keenan, said: “When I explained she wouldn’t be seeing her nana for a while she was really upset.
“I told her we could speak via Skype, and she asked about older people living in hospitals and care homes who might not have people to speak to.
“She asked if we could do something nice, and we came up with the idea of collecting Easter eggs.
“We got permission from some local care homes and set about doing it.
“People would leave them on our door, or we’d pick them up. Local places like the Newburgh Inn gave us a whole load – they’d had to cancel their Easter fun day.”
Some people even pledged cash online to the project, or donated chocolate or cards for care home staff.
Eventually, 165 of the sweet treats had been collected by the Keenan family and distributed to six care homes in the Balmedie area.
Eva, who was helped by her brother Leon in the process, added: “I just wanted to make people happy. It was lots of fun.”
