A charity volunteer has vowed to continue to support an Aberdeenshire cause through the coronavirus outbreak.
Jamie Rendall has set up a fundraising campaign to raise money for Barnardo’s following the temporary closure of its Portlethen shop.
The 21-year-old aims to run 10km around the Aberdeen area each day for the next three weeks.
He has set up a fundraiser page on Facebook and is uploading his daily progress using the Nike Running app, which tracks his time and distance.
Although motivated by reaching and setting targets, the volunteer said he was finding the runs “challenging”.
Mr Rendall added “I wanted to do something that I was good at, which happens to be running, to help vulnerable young people and their families who are affected by Coronavirus.
“I also felt the need to focus on something positive that would help to create structure in my day during the lockdown period.”
Martin Crewe, director of Barnardo’s Scotland said: “I would like to offer a very big thank you to Jamie.
“We are so grateful to people like him who continue to support the charity through these difficult times.”
