A motorcyclist has been rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries after being involved in a road collision in Aberdeenshire earlier this afternoon.
Police were called to the two-vehicle crash between the motorcyclist and a driver at Clinterty, on the B979 road between Tyrebagger Forest and Westhill, at around 12.40pm.
An ambulance took the male motorcycle rider to ARI after he sustained serious injuries, the male car driver is believed to be uninjured.
The road has been shut between its junction with the A96 and Clinterty Caravan Site, but is expected to re-open later this evening.
A police spokeswoman said: “The road is expected to be closed for a number of hours and motorists are being asked to avoid the area.”
