The accident happened at around 12.10pm on the A90 Aberdeen to Peterhead road at Stirling Village. A white DAF LF recovery lorry and a black Ford Mondeo car were involved in the crash at the entrance to Lendrum Terrace. One motorist was described by police as “walking wounded” and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as a precaution. The busy trunk road remained open with officers diverting traffic around the stricken lorry. It is understood the force of the collision caused its axle to give way, leaving it stranded on the north-bound carriageway. An ambulance service spokeswoman added: “Our crew took one casualty to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after an accident at Stirling Village. “We have no other information at this time.” The accident happened just yards from where a woman was hit by a lorry last summer. The casualty, from Boddam, died in the intensive care unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary two days after the incident on June 13.
