Organisations which brightened up the north-east with a major parade are being given the chance to bid for additional funding.
Thousands of people turned out to mark Celebrate Aberdeen last August, when charity workers, volunteers and supporters of around 130 organisations marched down Union Street.
The event, which was marking its ninth year, had been arranged to praise the work of the third sector and all those involved with it.
Since its inception, thousands of pounds has been donated through bucket collections, all of which has gone back into projects supporting people in the north-east.
Now Celebrate Aberdeen’s organisers are making £1,500 available for one of the groups who took part in the parade.
Last year the proceeds were given to Shopmobility Aberdeen, which bought two new wheelchairs.
Celebrate Aberdeen board member George Adam said: “The people who come to watch the parade each year are incredibly generous and it’s fantastic that the money they give is used to support one of our parading organisations
“With so many worthy participants and the outstanding projects they run, selecting just one applicant is never easy.
“We’re glad though that this donation can make a real difference to the successful applicant and the people it supports.
“Given the current situation we’re in, the impact of this funding is likely to be greater than ever.”
