Three appliances were sent to the scene at a building on Fraserburgh High Street after the alarm was raised just before 9am. The police also attended the scene and closed a section of Broad Street off so that firefighters could safely battle the blaze. They extinguished the fire at 9.56am, but remained on scene until 12.55pm to make the area safe and check for hot spots. A fire spokeswoman said: “We are now away from the incident, and received a stop message at 9.56am. “Crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and left the scene at 12.55pm.” There are not thought to be any injuries, and Broad Street was re-opened just after 1pm. Police confirmed that they had attended the incident and closed the road off.
