Police are investigating after £1,000 of scrap metal was stolen from an family-run Aberdeenshire garage.
Thieves targeted AME Vehicle Service and Repair in Insch between 5pm on Saturday and 8am on Monday.
Theives made off with scrap metal, alloy wheels and scrap GPS.
The secure building has CCTV but, owner Matt Milne yesterday said the thieves evaded its line of sight.
It is thought they crept through a nearby field to reach the garage, which is within the Insch Business Park.
Mr Milne described the theft as “desperation”.
He added: “Police called yesterday Tuesday morning but it looks like CCTV didn’t pick the guys up, as they trekked through a field to get here.
“Some of the items have serial numbers which could be something.”
Yesterday, a police spokeswoman said “inquiries are ongoing”.
Mr Milne has posted a public appeal on Facebook for people to share information with the police.
One local said two men and a “white transit type van” were found at their property in the middle of the night two weeks ago, but drove off before they were able to get a proper look.
Others echoed seeing a white transit van acting “suspiciously” in the area.
