Police are appealing for information following a “willful” fire at a north-east building site.
Officers are encouraging people with information to come forward following the incident on Rathen Road in Cairnbulg, near Fraserburgh.
The fire was started between 8pm on Wednesday and 8am on Thursday in a building on a building site, leaving it damaged.
It went out by itself and the fire service was not required. No-one was injured as a result of the incident.
A police investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances.
Detective Constable Ian Morrison, of Aberdeenshire CID, said: “Firstly I would like the thank members of the public for their assistance so far. I am appealing to anyone who was in the Rathen Road area of Cairnbulg between 8pm on Wednesday and 8am on Thursday and saw any suspicious activity to contact police.
“If you were driving in the area at the time, and have a dash-cam, please check back to see if there is any footage that could assist our investigation.”

Police launch probe after deliberate fire at building site in north-east village
