A north-east company has donated 500 hand-sanitiser kits to a local charity.
Biotechnics of Gourdon supplies a range of high-tech cleaning and sanitising products to the oil industry and NHS.
During the Covid-19 emergency, demand for its products has grown exponentially – staff have recently produced, packaged and distributed more than 326,000 litres of hand-sanitiser worldwide.
This week, Biotechnics donated 500 hand-sanitiser kits to Mearns and Coastal Healthy Living Network.
Due to the outbreak, the charity has rapidly adapted to create a new telephone service, deliver food and prescriptions and even offer gardening services in line with Scottish Government guidelines.
The 18 boxes will be distributed across the area, such as to community food larders and local groups, as well as to the charity’s own volunteers.
Jane Mitchell, manager at Mearns and Coastal Healthy Living Network, said the chatity had been “overwhelmed” at the support.
The donation was arranged through the Laurencekirk and District Rotary Club.
