A former Aberdeen bookies will be transformed into a cafe.
The ground floor of Torry’s former William Hill store will be brought back to life as an eatery after the plans were approved by the city council.
Bennett Developments and Consulting had applied on behalf on Sava Estates to create the cafe at the property in Victoria Road.
It will operate between 10am-11pm Sunday to Thursday and 10am-midnight Friday and Saturday.
The council deemed that the former William Hill unit was in an “acceptable location”, despite objections about the number of existing cafes in the area and concern about odour, noise and potential litter.
In the decision notice, planning officers said the cafe would “aid the enhancement of vitality and viability of the town centre by attracting people to the area” due to the fact the bookmakers had been empty “for some time.”
