The deadline is fast approaching for communities in the north-east to submit an application to the Banff and Buchan Area Initiatives Fund.
First round applications must be submitted by noon on Friday, May 29.
Funding of up to £10,000 will be provided for projects such as improvements to towns or volunteering schemes.
The £80,000 fund has been created to support local groups, help them meet the needs of their communities and tap into the talent and resources that exist throughout the area.
Applications are invited from constituted groups within the Banff and Buchan area in line with themes such as “safer communities”, “improving the appearance of towns” and “tackling poverty and inequality”.
Chairman of Aberdeenshire Council’s Banff and Buchan area committee, John Cox, said: “This is a great opportunity for community groups to get their ideas off the ground and make them a reality.
“There is great community spirit across Banff and Buchan and I would encourage all groups who could benefit from this fund to get in touch.”
Committee vice-chairman Brian Topping added: “It is important that applications are sent to us by the end of May so that funding can be considered, and council officers will be able to provide and support to prepare a proposal.
“The fund offers a real chance to make real improvements in our communities, so I hope we see a good number of approaches.”
