A retired nurse with asthma was left in tears after someone deliberately coughed on her in a local supermarket.
The 67-year-old, who is in the high risk category, has expressed anger at the way Morrisons on King Street handled the incident and claimed the customer service team told her the matter was closed.
Asking to remain anonymous, she said: “I was shocked at the way I was treated. As time has gone on I’ve been getting more angry at Morrisons.
“We’re two months down the line at this point. Surely they would have something in place.
“The woman stepped in front of me and I told her I was in the queue, she said ‘no you haven’t been’.
“All of sudden she came up to me and coughed in my face and left the store.”
The woman, who worked as a nurse for 40 years, said she was worried sick about catching coronavirus after the “horrible” incident but was lucky enough to have been wearing a scarf over her face at the time.
She has vowed to never shop in Morrisons again.
Police enquiries are currently ongoing and Morrisons were contacted for comment.
