Aberdeenshire Council leader Jim Gifford is encouraging drivers generally “to be cautious when out on the roads.” Mr Gifford said: “The roads are getting busier now compared to what they were like a few months ago when lockdown was announced.
“For a lot of people who have been working from home, it will feel strange driving again. As we are returning back to normal from lockdown, the roads are going to get busier and motorists will need to be cautious.”
Councillor Andrew Hassan said his “immediate thoughts are with the gentleman involved in the crash.”Mr Hassan said: “First of all I wish the gentleman involved a full recovery soon.”
“Everyone is supposed to be staying at home so the chance of witnesses being there when it happened may be smaller than normal.”
Earlier this month another motorist had a lucky escape after a lorry ploughed into a house following a crash on the A947, the main road between Fyvie and Turriff.
