Golfers desperate to get back onto courses in Aberdeen crashed an online booking system when trying to arrange slots.
Sport Aberdeen runs several of the city’s greens and is preparing to reopen the MacKenzie Championship Course, Hazlehead Pines, Balnagask and the Kings Link course on Friday.
But when more than 700 people rushed onto the website at once to ensure they could be among the first to play, the system was unable to cope and went down.
Teams have since worked on taking bookings over the phone and email to allow people to play.
Alistair Robertson, Sport Aberdeen’s managing director, has said sorry to those affected.
He said: “I want to personally apologise to all of our valued Golf Aberdeen members.
“I am truly sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience that the crashing of our online booking system will have caused.
“Over 700 people tried to access the booking portal at once and it has struggled to cope.”
