A former wine bar in Ellon will be turned into a hairdressing salon.
The Pend, which served hot food and coffees alongside alcoholic tipples, closed its doors on February 1.
Plans were lodged in April for the Bridge Street property to change its use from a wine bar to a shop.
Documents submitted by Colin Wright Surveyors on behalf ofHedi Mustafa, revealed the unit would be transformed into a Kurdish barber and salon.
According to the plans, there will be two separate areas for a hairdresser and a barber to work.
There will also be a male toilet and unisex toilet with disabled access to the rear of the property.
There was one objection during the consultation, with concern raised there was an “over-saturation of existing hairdressers” in the town and “no need” for another.
However, the project has been approved by planners who said the shop was “entirely compatible” with the town centre.
