Two teenagers have been arrested and charged in connection with a fire at Northfield Library in Aberdeen.
The library, which is based inside Northfield Community Centre, went on fire just after midnight on Tuesday, May 19.
Police have now confirmed that two male youths aged 16 and 18 have been charged.
The blaze, which is believed to have spread from a wheelie bin, left those who volunteer at the centre heartbroken.
Chairwoman, Jacqui Innes, welcomed the progress of the police investigation.
The library was the worst-affected part of the building as many books burned and ceilings had to be torn down to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the centre.
It is likely the building will need to remain closed after lockdown ends to enable repairs to be carried out.
A report will now be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
