A person has been rescued after falling from the cliffs beside a north-east castle this afternoon.
The emergency services – including a lifeboat from Peterhead and the Coastguard service’s rescue helicopter along with multiple crews – were scrambled to Slains Castle, at Cruden Bay, at 3.20pm.
It was confirmed that a person had fallen from cliffs into the water but no details are available on their condition at this time.
The casualty was winched to safety and taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
A Coastguard spokesman confirmed that teams from Peterhead, Cruden Bay and Stonehaven attended the scene.
