Key workers in an Aberdeenshire town will be able to receive free bicycle safety checks and basic repairs in a scheme which could soon be rolled out across the region.
The Dr Bike service will be available at Live Life Aberdeenshire’s Leisurelend facility in Inverurie every Wednesday for the next four weeks as a pilot project.
The service includes fixing punctures, tuning gears and other adjustments like fitting new brake blocks.
Bikes will be dropped off in a neutral area, with opportunity to speak to the mechanic about any issues. Workers can wait for it to be fixed or can pick it up later.
The trial period will allow the demand for the service to be assessed before a possible rollout across other Aberdeenshire communities.
