North-east charities have been working together to help families in need of emergency support with essential supply packages.
The Peterhead based charity Stella’s Voice has experienced increasing in demand for the help it has been providing since lockdown started.
And such has been the pressure on the services it and others offer, they have been teaming-up to provide aid.
Most recently, Stella’s Voice responded to a plea from fellow charity Barnardo’s, which supports vulnerable children.
They came together to help an Aberdeenshire family in crisis by providing supplies needed “as quickly as possible”.
European director of Stella’s Voice, Mark Morgan, said: “Recently the charity was pleased to be able to respond to a call for assistance from Barnados to help a family.
“Working together, we were able to pull together items and supplies that were urgently needed and delivered to the family as quickly as possible.”
Stella’s Voice assisted Bernardo’s by supplying and delivering a washing machine, food and children’s clothes, as well as toys and puzzles.
The charity, which works to stop human trafficking, has helped people across the north-east during lockdown by donating household appliances and providing a shopping service to those self-isolating, as well as prescription collection and delivery.
It’s efforts to diversify during lockdown also mean it is offering help with “grass cutting and more during this time”.
Mr Morgan said: “If anyone finds themselves in need during these times, they should get in touch with us.”
