A group of 12 youths were seen taking a wheelie bin to Sheddocksley playing fields on Monday evening at 8pm. Afterwards, the area and trees were damaged by fire. The youths were boys and girls aged between 12 and 16. PC Jen Heritage, of the Hazlehead Community Policing Team, said: “Fires are very dangerous and can cause significant damage. “I am keen to speak to anyone who knows who was involved or saw people in the area. Please call Police on 101, reference 3528 of 8 June. “Alternatively you can report anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
