An Aberdeen mental health organisation is bringing forward a series of events to inspire people during lockdown.
Making Minds Matter had planned to host Kindness Unlocked, a live-streamed festival of speakers, music and virtual stalls, on Saturday, September 12.
Its organisers are now preparing to spread some of the entertainment out to provide people with some positivity amid the pandemic.
Later this month it will premiere a performance by three local singers as a tribute to health workers.
Mary Wilson, Jas Watt and Keirah Kirton will cover the track Rise Up by Andra Day, which has racked up tens of millions of views online.
In recent weeks health workers have been performing the song, first released in 2016, by rewriting the lyrics to reflect life working in Covid-19 hospital wards.
The event will be streamed on the Make Minds Matter Facebook page at 8pm on June 25.
Organiser Abi Clarke said coordinating the singers has shown the “support and closeness” across the north-east during the pandemic.
She added: “We chose this date as June is the last month for the NHS clap and we would like to give a final thanks to all of the key workers for their time and efforts during these challenging times.”
Jas Watt said: “Rehearsals have been smashing so far and everyone is so lovely.
“I am so happy I am involved in this event and I’m super excited to share this with everyone.”
