Aberdeen City Council has confirmed that the Bridge of Don recycling centre will reopen on Monday.
The authority has also announced that all the city’s tips will now accept a wider range of materials at each location from the same date.
The move comes weeks after facilities at Hazlehead, Bucksburn and Tullos resumed service as part of phase one of easing the coronavirus lockdown.
In order to reopen the last recycling centre still closed in the city, special road closures and alternative routes for traffic have been put in place.
Roads closed to general traffic include Scotstown Road between Dubford Road and Sheilhill Road, other than for locals.
Dedicated traffic marshals will be on hand at the site initially as queues are expected.
Precautions have been made after police had to attend to traffic trailing around streets surrounding recycling facilities that opened earlier this month.
Council bosses have asked residents to avoid mornings and instead go later in the day to minimise queues.
They have also advised that usage of sites is restricted to Aberdeen residents only, with proof of address being needed to make use of facilities.
Aberdeen City Council operational delivery convener, John Wheeler, said: “People are reminded they should try and go to a recycling centre at a quieter time if possible as they’re still busiest in the mornings and queues will be expected at Bridge of Don for several days.”
