Community groups in Fraserburgh are being encouraged to apply for cash from the Co-op Local Community Fund.
Co-op member pioneer in the town, Jacqueline Winton said: “I started in January this year and my role is to support community organisations and projects to help bring people together and bring positive changes to the area.
“I am very proud to have this role and really enjoy supporting the community of Fraserburgh.
“Last month I was able to support colleagues as they delivered £400 of food to the Fraserburgh Salvation Army food bank thanks to donations from the public.”
Local stores support three causes through the fund, each year with Y Suffer in Silence, the Parkinson’s Fraserburgh Support Group and Rosehearty Bowling Club the town’s current beneficiaries.
Every time members shop at Co-op, 1% of what they spend on own-brand products helps to fund projects in their local area.
To be considered, projects must benefit the local community by either bringing the community together to help those in need or providing access to lifestyle essentials such as community spaces, food and bereavement support.
Groups that support mental and physical health are also eligible to apply.
Applicants have until midnight on June 28 to submit their application online.
