Walkers in Africa, North and South America, Asia, Australasia and Europe have come together for a north-east led arts project.
Under One Sky project, led by artist Iman Tajik with Huntly-based art organisation Deveron Projects, encourages people to jointly walk the world’s circumference.
Walks have been registered in Jixiang Village in China and in Singapore; in Alberta, and Ontario; in San Juan Puerto Rico, Pennsylvania and Arkansas in the USA; in Tehran, Iran and the UAE as well as in thirteen countries across Europe.

Deveron Projects director Claudia Zeiske said: “We are delighted to see so many people from so many nations coming together in the Under One Sky project.
“Together we have now walked over 9,000km almost 25% of the world’s circumference.”
Under One Sky was devised to replace 2020 Slow Marathon which was cancelled due to the pandemic.
The event was first started in 2012 by Ethiopian artist Mihret Kebede who managed to assemble 225 locals to walk a total distance of 5,580 miles, which was the distance between her hometown of Addis and Huntly.
