A multi-agency response was launched after a Coastguard helicopter spotted a car at the bottom of an embankment while out on a training exercise.
Helicopter crews noticed a car had rolled around 300ft down an embankment at Rouen Bay near Kinneff while out on a training exercise .
A Coastguard spokesman said: “We received the call at 2.05pm today. One of the helicopters on a training exercise saw the car at the bottom of an embankment.
“Further inquiries were made involving a Coastguard rescue team and RNLI from Stonehaven along with police.
“The vehicle’s handbrake had failed and it rolled down the embankment and came to rest at the bottom.
