A north-east children’s charity is hoping families across the region will help it make its fun-filled online talent show a huge success.
Charlie House appealed for local talent to take part in The BIG Sunday Showcase, a virtual variety show that will be screened in homes across the north-east on August 2.
The event was open to all ages, abilities and skills, with the charity asking for video submissions to help them select the acts to be showcased.
Applications closed this week and a judging panel are now drawing up a shortlist of 12 finalists.
Those watching at home on the night can then vote via an online poll for who they think should win.
Director of fundraising for Charlie House, Susan Crighton, hopes the show will “bring some fun into everyone’s homes during what has been a really challenging time”.
She said: “The BIG Sunday Showcase will be a family event where everyone can gather together, vote and decide on their winner as they view video clips of the finalists.
“Think Britain’s Got Talent, but better!”
The talent show can be viewed via Zoom from 6pm.
