A north-east business has donated £10,000 to help cancer patients.
Taylors Industrial Service has given the cash to Friends of Anchor to buy wig care packs for patients suffering hair loss.
The donation was made in memory of long-term employee Rose Beaton’s daughter Elaine, who died of breast cancer in December.
Operations director Kevin Taylor said: “Taylors is a family-run company and like so many others, we truly value that. Elaine was very much part of our extended family at Taylors and was known and loved by management and colleagues alike.”
Each pack contains high-quality products to help keep wigs in the best shape possible, including specialist conditioner, spray and shampoo.
Friends of Anchor’s director of fundraising Sarah-Jane Hogg thanked the business for their support and said: “Hair loss can often be one of the most distressing side-effects of treatment, which is why our dedicated hair and wig stylist offers a wig fitting and styling service in addition to cutting and grooming services.
“Thanks to Taylors, these new packs will be a welcome extension of that service and something we will continue to offer going forward.”
