Girlguides from all over the north-east are preparing for a summer camp with a difference next month.
Hundreds of youngsters across over Scotland were left disappointed when leaders were left with no other choice but to cancel events due to Covid-19.
In an effort to ensure its members still had something to look forward to, Girlguiding Banff and Buchan announced they will be holding a virtual camp in August.
They have invited girls across the region and leaders from all sections to take part.
Girlguide volunteer Sonia Stephen said she believes the family-friendly event will “keep the momentum going”.
“There are going to be a variety of activities for those taking part and we’re encouraging the girls to to sleep somewhere different from their beds.
“We understand not everyone will have a tent and a garden so if this isn’t possible they can make a den in their living rooms to sleep in.”
The theme for the event is Go Bananas and those taking part are being encouraged to incorporate the theme into their camping area.
Ms Stephen said: “The girls can decorate their camp areas with jungle animals and bunting or however they like.”
Members have until July 20 to register for the event, which will begin at 11am on August 8 and finish at 11am the following morning.
