A free children’s activity programme featuring a mythical giant from a popular Aberdeenshire hill is being produced by a conservation group.
The Bailies of Bennachie will publish three online guides once a fortnight over the summer holidays for primary-aged children to encourage them to learn more about nature.
The packs of ideas will feature the hill’s famous giant, Jock o’ Bennachie, and are designed to help youngsters find out more about the natural world around them.
Jack Cumberbirch, of the Bailies group, said: “Families have had months of home learning and limited options for summer plans, so we hope Jock o Bennachie’s fun summer activities will enable them to go online and outside, enjoy themselves and learn at the same time.
“Never have the benefits of being outdoors and active been more important.”
