A boy was taken to hospital after falling from the rocks near a north-east lighthouse.
Aberdeen coastguard, ambulance and lifeboat crews were called to the rocks near Boddam Lighthouse in Peterhead.
Coastguard rope rescue team from Cruden Bay and a backup rope rescue team from Banff were also in attendance alongside the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 151 from Inverness.
An ambulance and Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) dispatched land crew of paramedics and doctors to the scene.
RNLI Peterhead Lifeboat launched a lifeboat to assist and remained on scene as safety cover for the helicopter operations.
The boy was reached by the rocks and was treated at the scene for multiple injuries.
The boy was then airlifted to a landing spot in the lighthouse grounds and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
A statement online by UK Coastguard said: “Please stay alert whilst enjoying the coastline, and if you do get into difficulty remember to dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”
