Groundworks for a new stable and riding school near Turriff have been halted after building began without planning permission.
The creation of a manege and stable in a field at Lethenty Mill, near Fyvie, hit a stumbling block after applicant Kimberley Hay realised permission from Aberdeenshire Council was required – after clearing of the 0.2 acre site had already begun.
Insch-based building consultant William Jamieson has now submitted plans to the local authority with an explanation stating: “The applicant was unaware that permission was required. Work has ceased and only the ground area cleared.”
Plans for the four-horse stable and a manege riding-out area have now been submitted.
They will be considered by planning chiefs at the council in the coming weeks.
