A former care home in Banff could be turned into a family home if council planners back proposals for its change of use.
Valeview Care Home, in the town’s Bridge Street, has lain empty for around three years since the facility, which offered supported living for up to nine adults with learning disabilities, closed .
New owner Arvind Gunput, of Heckmondwike in West Yorkshire, is asking Aberdeenshire Council’s planning department for permission to turn the three-storey terraced house into a four-bedroom home.
No physical alterations inside or outside are proposed and, if approved, the new home will include a games room, family lounge, two studies and three bathrooms.
The application will be discussed by planning and building standards bosses in the coming weeks.
