A Bucksburn man has been fined after making a 999 call in which he threatened to shoot Inverurie residents in the head with a shotgun.
Ian Scott dialled emergency operators at about 3.3pm on August 8 last year, telling them numerous times he was going to get a firearm and shoot people.
The 55-year-old, of Stoneyton Terrace in Bucksburn, told them that he had a gun on its way.
Fiscal depute, Lynzi Souter, told Aberdeen Sheriff Court Scott stated “police better get here quickly” or he would “burst heads”.
He also singled out people living in Inverurie and said he would kill anyone who tried to stop him.
Police officers who made their way to his flat discovered Scott under the influence of alcohol and still on the 999 call.
He once again threatened to get a shotgun and said he would shoot both officers.
Solicitor John McLeod said his client had no recollection of the “strange” behaviour but had been on prescribed medication at the time.
Scott pleased guilty to acting in a threatening and abusive manner and was fined £400 by Sheriff Phillip Mann.
