Views are being sought on Aberdeenshire Council’s updated housing allocation policy.

The local authority has revised its lettings policy and support for those with split households, and now want to gather the thoughts of locals.

Communities committee chairwoman Anne Stirling said: “The possible change in approach to the way properties are allocated is an important part of this process, so we want to be comfortable it is the right fit for Aberdeenshire before making any final decision.”

Meanwhile in Aberdeen, people have been reminded to share their views on the council’s proposed local development plan.

Planning development management committee convener Marie Boulton said: “The proposed local development plan will help the city council and private planners and developers to continue to create a city that’s a fantastic place for everyone to live, work and visit.”

Several new opportunity sites have been identified in areas such as St Fitticks Park, Hazlehead Park and the Torry waterfront.
