A song in tribute to the ‘Bervie fishermen who were lost at sea for 48 hours can be revealed for the first time.
Musician Dave Ramsay performed his new song Alive, Alive exclusively for the Press and Journal on the clifftops near his coastal home.
The song marks the homecoming of David Irvine and Jim Reid, who vanished in their tiny creel boat from the harbour at Gourdon last Tuesday.
They were found by a passing trawlerman,, hours after the official search was called off.
The grandfather and grandson team were discovered almost 50 miles off the coast of Montrose.
They later revealed they had survived on a flask of tea, a bottle of water and two chocolate wafers.
Mr Ramsay said: “These guys have created their own history without even wanting to.”
The song will be performed at a fundraiser at Inverbervie Masonic Hall on Saturday night, held in support of the Maggie May Maritime Museum and the Creative Community Good Fund.
