A total of nine appliances, including a height vehicle, are on the scene at Cordyce School, in Dyce. Locals have gathered to watch as the orange flames spread across the night sky. That blaze took three hours to extinguish. Tonight, a fire spokeswoman added: “Units were called to the scene at 9.48pm. We are still in attendance. “It is likely crews will remain overnight.” Despite its derelict condition, Dyce residents had still hoped for the former school to be put to good use. Firefighters on the scene Boxer Lee McAllister had put forward a £10million fitness complex vision and, at one point, the Parkhill Garden Centre was also eyeing up the site for a replacement centre.
