A training park for dogs perhaps normally not allowed off the lead in public will expand further into the Aberdeenshire countryside.
Joanne Beckley runs Purity Paws Pooch Park, and has recently been given permission to revamp the area.
The four acre site, near Rhynie, is an enclosed dog walking and training space with a high boundary fence.
There is even a memory garden where people can leave tributes to departed four-legged friends.
To boost the business, a new classroom will be created under the freshly-approved proposals.
Mrs Beckley said: “It’s a great big area, about four acres, for the dogs to run around safely.
“And if they need special training, then their owners know the fence means they can easily let them off the lead.
“We only launched last April, when we just had the land, but we’ve now got agility equipment, the fences and now the new classroom is really exciting so we can get some young handlers in.
“The dog park really has grown in popularity – it’s quite good for rescue dogs or any dogs that usually aren’t allowed off the lead. It allows them freedom and owners peace of mind.”
Mrs Beckley, originally from Grantown, has also invested in a special compost toilet as part of wider plans to make the site eco-friendly.
