A man who died after his car left the A9 at the weekend has been named by police as William McIntosh from Aberdeen.
The 62-year-old, from Danestone, had been travelling on the A9 Perth to Stirling dual carriageway at its junction with the A824 Aberuthven to Auchterarder road when the accident happened at around 2.20pm on Sunday.
Despite the best attempts of members of the public and medical staff at the scene, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at Perth Royal Infirmary.
Police are continuing to investigate what happened. Mr McIntosh was the sole occupant of the silver Peugeot 206.
“Investigations into the cause of the collision are at an early stage, although at this time, there are not thought to be any other vehicles involved,” a spokesman for the force said.
