Tributes were paid yesterday to the Aberdeen driver who died after being involved in a smash on the A9 at the weekend.
The man, named by police as William McIntosh, 62, from Danestone, Aberdeen, died when his silver Peugeot crashed on the A9 Perth to Stirling dual carriageway.
Despite the best attempts of emergency services and members of public, Mr McIntosh was pronounced dead on arrival at Perth Royal Infirmary on Sunday.
Tributes to the sales coach, who was known to friends as Billy, have started flooding in on social media.
Alison Hay paid tribute to Billy on behalf of Billy’s partner Maureen Steinson, writing: “I would like to say on behalf of Billy’s family and also on behalf of Billy’s partner Maureen Steinson to everyone, a huge thank you for all your lovely messages. It really has meant a lot to us. ”
Layney Forsyth wrote: “Such sad news. His banter will be missed. Thoughts and love to his family at this sad time.”
The accident happened near the junction of the A824 Aberuthven to Auchterarder Road.
A police spokeswoman said: “Investigations into the cause of the collision are at an early stage although at this time, there are not thought to be any other vehicles involved.”
