A virtual relay event has raised more than £50,000 for Cancer Research UK.
The Relay for Life Peterhead committee was left with no choice but to cancel the popular race which normally attracts hundreds to Lord Catto Park.
They instead staged an online version, which has amassed £50,667.
Chairwoman, Lorraine Coleman said: “Normally in the months leading up to the relay, the teams hold different events to raise money but they really rallied together and found other ways.”
The virtual event was made up of lots of videos from past years.
The committee is now urging people to sign up for next years event.
Miss Coleman said: “Covid-19 has slowed cancer research down with clinical trials being postponed, patient treatments being fragmented, and vital research being put on hold.”
