A north-east urological cancer charity is looking for golfers to take part in their annual fundraiser later this year.
The third annual Ucan Golf Challenge will tee off at Banchory Golf Club on September 11, with proceeds going towards the charity’s campaign to bring robotic surgery to the region.
The charity wants to raise £1.5 million to create a robotic surgery unit in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to ensure that all patients who require surgery have access to the latest and best technology.
The golf challenge will be followed by a champagne reception and dinner at the Marcliffe Hotel at Pitfodels, with entertainment provided by comedian Craig Hill.
Fiona Pearson, the charity’s fundraising manager, said: “This is a great event where the business community can support Ucan and enjoy a great day of golf at Banchory Golf Club, followed by dinner and entertainment from one of Scotland’s top comedians, Craig Hill, who is back this year by popular demand after his fabulous performance at last year’s event.”
The event will be run using the Stableford scoring system with trophies for winners and runners-up, as well as trophies for competitions including longest rive and nearest the pin.
Entry for a team of four starts at £980. To get involved, call 01224 559312 or e-mail fiona.pearson@abdn.ac.uk
