In the third and final installment of our exclusive interview with author Estelle Maskame, she shares her plans for the future after the Dimily series…
Despite her trilogy having come to an end Estelle Maskame says she has no intention of taking a break from writing.
With a spin-off novel expected out later this year and plans for several other books she shows no sign of slowing down.
She said: “I’m in the middle of my exams just now and then will be going into sixth year after the summer.
“But I don’t think I’ll go to university as I really just want to write – I’d rather spend my spare time writing than studying.
“My dream is to get an agent and be taken on by a real publishing house and write for a living.
“I make some money from the sales just now, but its just a little extra – although I did manage to take my mum out for dinner from it.”
Estelle also revealed that a film version of her first book could be in the pipeline with a script already being written.
She said: “Some people who have read the book are also film makers so they are about to send me a first draft of the script.
“It would be really exciting if that were to happen but we will have to wait and see.”
She also plans to rewrite her trilogy to bring it up to date and add a more mature feel.
However fans of her work will not have to wait long for her next project.
Estelle will be writing a new novel to be published exclusively on www.pressandjournal.co.uk starting in the coming weeks.
She said: “I think this will be a great way to get my work to a wider audience and I’m really looking forward to it.”
