A former north-east medical surgery is being given a new lease of life as two new homes.
Planners have backed the proposed renovation of the former New Deer medical centre into one two-bedroom homes and one three-bedroom property.
Central Buchan Medical Practice closed its doors in Fordyce Road in April 2018, after the building was deemed unfit for purpose.
The surgery moved to Old Mart Community Resource Centre in Maud and now plans for the vacant building, lodged by Turriff-based James Ironside on behalf of Hamish Dawson, have been approved.
Backing the plans, an Aberdeenshire Council infrastructure services spokesman said: “The alterations to the building are relatively minor and deemed acceptable otherwise as they will not negatively affect the character of the building or area.
“Bringing the building back into use is considered positive and two residential units in an area of residential character is in general terms acceptable.”
