Employees at Aberdeen developer undertake unique challenge to mark working from home milestone

Staff at an Aberdeen developer have undertaken a unique fundraising challenge to mark 150 days of working from home.

Like many employees across the country, staff at Halliday Fraser Munro have been away from the office throughout lockdown.

To recognise the recent milestone, each employee has been asked to take part in the “150 challenge” in support of the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH).

Each employee will challenge themselves to undertake 150 activities or achievements such as cycling 150km to baking 150 cup cakes, or even “eating 150 baked beans in 150 seconds with a cocktail stick”.

Managing director of the firm, David Halliday, said: “We have chosen to support SAMH because nationwide surveys undertaken during lockdown indicate concerns about mental health being top of the list of anxieties around work.

“According to SAMH at least one in six people in work experiences common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety and their research shows that 48% of workers don’t tell their employers about their mental health problems for fear of losing their job.”

Mr Halliday is encouraging everyone who is in a position to donate to do so.

Member of the Halliday Fraser Munro teams in Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow are also being encouraged to participate.
