Two motorbike accidents closed the A947 north and south of Oldmeldrum this morning – with one of the motorcyclists crashing into a roadside house.
Police are re-directing traffic from the north accident near Meldrum House Hotel where the road remains closed. But the incident further south at Whiterashes has been cleared.
The first crash happened at 6.35am when a motorcyclist crashed into a house and is described as having life-threatening injuries.
Three fire engines were in attendance as there was a small fire in the home following the crash between the B9170 in Oldmeldrum and the B9005 junction in Fyvie.
The second accident on the A947 at Whiterashes has been less serious.
A Police Scotland spokesperson, said: “The first crash was near Meldrum house Hotel and came in at 6.35am involving a motorcycle, looks like he’s gone into the house and come off the road.
“We have got one on the A947, a motorcyclist near Udny Green, that came in at 7.45am, it doesn’t look serious, he’s up and about and talking to ambulance crew.”
