A lifeline £130,000 funding package will be shared out among people living around the Cairngorms to help them through the pandemic.
The Cairngorms Recovery Fund has been launched to help communities and local businesses bounce back from the lockdown.
It will be used to support projects that will stimulate economic growth, create jobs, protect nature, address climate change, and directly benefit the local area.
The fund will be exclusive to projects within the Cairngorms National Park which may not be able to receive funding from national or regional schemes.
Xander McDade, convener of the Cairngorms National Park Authority, said: “Lockdown has been a challenging time for everyone, particularly those in rural communities who rely on visitors.
“We are hoping to see applications from innovative projects that will not only create economic growth, but do so in a green way.”
The fund is made up of £100,000 from the CNPA and a further £30,000 from the Cairngorms Trust charity.
Groups eligible to apply include community bodies, registered charities, business associations and climate groups. Individual businesses may be eligible but are encouraged to apply as groups.
The fund is open for applications until September 20 and all successful projects must be completed by March 31.
