An eagle-eyed resident of a nearby high rise flat stopped a serious blaze this evening.
The person’s call to fire services prevented a more serious blaze from taking hold at Broadford Works after they spotted a plume of smoke emanating from the building.
Two fire crews attended Broadford Works from Central Fire Station raced to the scene and got there just in time to stop a more serious incident.
A spokesperson said: “A person from a nearby higher level building reported the smoke. Fire crews got their quickly and their timely intervention prevented a more serious incident.”
