It happened on the A947 Oldmeldrum to Fyvie road, south of the village, just before 5pm. There were no injuries and police were able to keep traffic flowing while they dealt with the incident. A spokesman said: “Fortunately the collision happened beside a large lay-by and five of the cars were able to be driven into it. “One other car, a black Ford Fiesta Zetec, was uplifted by a local garage and traffic returned to normal.”
