A service of thanksgiving for the life of businessman Maitland Mackie will be held at his home farm at Westertown, Rothienorman.
It will take place on Friday, at 1.30pm, followed by a burial in the family arboretum, a short walk from the farm – all are invited to both ceremonies.
Mr Mackie will be laid to rest beside his wife Halldis, who died in February, aged 76, and had spent many hours designing the arboretum, which overlooks Bennachie.
The couple are survived by three children, Karin, Mac, and Kirstin, and nine grandchildren, while Mr Mackie had five siblings, Mary, Elrick, Patti, Isobel, and Ruth.
The family have asked for donations, in lieu of flowers, at the service, to Friends of Insch Hospital.
Parking will be available a short distance away from the marquee, where the thanksgiving service is being held.
