End of life care across north-east communities will be maintained thanks to new funding from the Clashindarroch Wind Farm Community Fund .
Marie Curie has been awarded a £6,180 grant to support care in Huntly, Strathbogie and Tap O Noth.
Locally, the charity provides care to families living with terminal illness in their own homes through 12 volunteers known as helpers and with Marie Curie nurses delivering hands-on care day and night as needed.
Last year Marie Curie nurses spent nearly 400 hours caring for 58 people in the area, which helped prevent unnecessary hospital admissions.
Marie Curie philanthropy manager for Scotland, David Miller, said: “Our work is needed more than ever as we continue to care for dying people and support their loved ones.
“The crisis has seriously impacted on our ability to fundraise and public donations have reduced as planned activities have had to be cancelled.”
